Video quicky. Live & uncut thunderstorm action filmed with my cell phone accompanying the tune “Boesoek” from the forthcoming Coco Bryce album which will be released later this year on the new Beats and Hip Hop imprint Fremdtunes. Muchos gracias to Omi for the pasting.

One of my favorite records at the moment that will drop the shops soon is astro:dynamics compiled by Rekordah. We already announced this one and were totally blown away by the soundbites alone.
Now having the record in my ipod for more then some time, I must admit it’s so fitting the weather it has become the soundtrack of my summer mood.
Allthough the record is very diverse, shifting from pure summer beach madness to freaky stuttering funky slammers it’s as coherent as can be. Read more »

Ann-Arbor born Charles Trees signed with our friends of Musique Large. The EP is an intriguing mix of 80ies synth extravaganza, hip hop and electro funk like on the title song The Dream. The second track Mahjongg starts along the same path but with more electro kinda influences: dirty 8bit synths, claps. Funky like skweee growing epic in it’s build up to the tracks climax and then when you expect it to go bang it fades… nice! Col Ak Ill is like a good Dam Funk track, funky from the start, pumping synth bass, stuttering beats and a beautiful percussion and organ end. Gratiot Gowanus with Shigeto from Ghostly International fame is a strange track that somehow lingers on and has a enormous push at the same time. Subtle also with the gritty sounds. The remix of the title track is done by the other new signees Baron Retif & Concepcion Perez.
The first in a series of free download ep’s and singles on Myor. Slow Hand Motëm & Coco Bryce join hands to form the overly obvious duo “Slow Hand Coco”. Hip Hop instrumentals, downtempo Electro Acid, an 8 bit cover of a Klaxons tune and some Skweee to boot, all in the lowest of fidelity traditions.
