Just found this on the world wide web. Very nice wikipedia article about dazzle painting. 'Complex pattern of geometric shapes in contrasting colours', that's the way we like it!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dazzle_camouflage
'Dazzle camouflage, also known as Razzle Dazzle or Dazzle painting, was a camouflage paint scheme used on ships, extensively during World War I and to a lesser extent in World War II. Credited to artist Norman Wilkinson, it consisted of a complex pattern of geometric shapes in contrasting colours, interrupting and intersecting each other.'

A few years ago Gestalten Verlag in Germany published the standard on vector design with Neubau Welt and now they deliver us Grid Index by musician, sound artist
Carsten Nicolai the new inspiration standard for grids.
You might know Nicolai from his Raster Noton label and his endless aliases he has been publishing music with Alva Noto, Opto, Cyclo, Signal to name a few. The
Raster Noton label next to the music is distinctive for its graphic design. Its style has been copied by many but it is so clear when you have a record from the label there will be no doubt about it. For years Nicolai has been also making artwork for exhibitions.
The new book (Nicolai has been publishing artwork in books for many years and this is already his 5th book with Gestalten)
Grid Index is the first comprehensive visual lexicon of patterns and grid systems. Based upon years of research, Carsten Nicolai has discovered and unlocked the visual code for visual systems into a systematic equation of grids and patterns. The books comes with a CD!
A must for graphic designers and art lovers.

What is going on with this world? Microsoft is to take over IKEA? What? Yes, Just got this pointed out by a friend. IKEA is working on a global make-over of their logo. It's going from their futura type logo (which is amazingly powerful) to Verdana. The disgusting type used by Microsoft as it's standard in all their software (check if you don't believe this). We have a pic to proof it:

it's a shame, a goddamn shame. Cheaper then this it won't get....
I typed in IKEA change over in google and noticed a great discussion, do it!
