A very nice free package from Scion which is definitely worth the download. It features a track by garage legend Todd Edwards and remixes by MJ Cole, Joy Orbison, Feadz and My Dear Disco. Although I like all tracks, it's really all about the the Joy Orbison remix with the subtle melodies and chopped up vocals Orbison style. Download right here

DEADBOY If U Want Me

Starting up a label, even if it's from the ashes of some amazing ones, is a drag (we know now too!). Deadboy was scheduled to be the first but as we know now the The Golden Handshake EP release got to be the first. No harm done. The previous Deadboy release U Cheated (on Well Rounded) was already combining the warm house sound of the early nineties with the more contemporary club vibes. This If U Want Me single sided release is something similar. It uses these elements from the early house scene: rave-ish vocal samples, imploring If U Want Me, in combination funky house tunes and packed in this catchy UK Funky / garage-ish groove. It fits perfectly to all kinda recordbags like Kode9, Martyn, Sinden, Joy Orbison, Modeselektor to name a few....
