Four Tet delivered with his recent There Is Love In You maybe his best album yet. It has this amazing mix of musical ideas moving in between genres perfectly. The original is beautiful voiced with samples over great beat programming, perfectly timed bass lines and ditto (deep house?) synth structures. Listening to Joy Orbison’s remix it feels like the original but the beats are at first chopped and then suddenly simplified but utterly effective. Again the voices with the added pulsing beat are pure dancepleasure. Roska takes it to a more funky bassline with a shuffle. Nicely cut back voice again and the break is sucking us into a floor nodder. Previously out on a real real real limited vinyl but now a digital release (I know….)

WARP drops some heavy shit with two of the more interesting producers at the moment: Eskmo and Eprom. Both West coast, San Fransisco area. From Eprom we had recently his collab with Profisee and Eskmo is in our bag with his releases on Studio Rockers, Vertical Sound and Planet Mu.
Both tracks are defently next level. The Eskmo Lands and Bones features the beautiful voice of Swan. This epic track drags you along hypnotised by the whispering in my ear, the synths ominous in the background but ready to take-over…. The bass seams hidden but it’s right there in my stomach. The claps are the only handle to keep you on the floor and the break sucks all away to make room to go deeper and deeper….
Eprom, like on his Zoning, is on Hendt straight in your face full contact. The bee swarm that suddenly appears is tinseling, the bass riddle is almost to simple but utterly effective. The arcade lines are blowing and the buzzers are so inyourface that your eyes heart!

Dead Fader, as the name might indicate, is uncompromising, rude, dark, raw, blunt, ruthless, ear damaging, loud, dirty and delicious mercilessly. Out soon on 3×3, the label run by CLOAKS. They are a Brighton-based duo who create a crunched-up collision of dubstep, hiphop and electronica, encased in beautiful, crystalline distortion with detritus dripping from it’s pores (promo talk by the label). Autumn Rot will be the first 12″ on 3×3, after that Corrupt My Examiner the album will be released. Here are some tasters….enjoy.
For many years I am lost into the dislectic world of Autechre. I hope this sonic voyage will never end. Especially after listing to their new mix for the FACT-magazine. Autechre have put together a mix in advance of their forthcoming album Oversteps and European live dates. Genre-free in the old and the new. This is how a perfect night ‘lost in music’ would sound like. Seriously excited about Oversteps. The ‘Quaristice’ night in the Petrol-club/ Antwerp was a mindblowing moment in 2008… O my gosh!

On the Electronic Music Torrents website two older radio shows. Enough mb to keep you busy until the Oversteps release.
All City is on the market with two impressive series:the second 7×7 and the Los Angeles series. This split by Take and Matthew David is the second in the LA, after the first by Dibiase and P.U.D.G.E.
Take we know from his great EP on the dutch Eat Concrete label. His sound is defined by chips of voices from records, tv movies, a strong pulsing, sometimes stuttering beats and great harmonics. When he hits the deep bass it’s always mind blowing like on Warm Ruin (the voice sample reminds me of Tea Leaf Dancers)
The first time I read about Matthew David was on the production notes of Los Angeles (FlyLo). During that he appeared in the Brainfeeder, Dublab, Low End Theory posse. He did earlier a digital EP on Plug Research. His sound is totally structured and constructed from samples that are heave(n)ly processed. The compositions are intriguing deep and moody.

The Akira Kiteshi saga continues with a free download album! Via mediafire or soundcloud.
Be warned this is nut anything like the mixtape we posted earlier this week, no it’s even beyond the AK Kids project we also posted. It’s Akira playing in the studio with reel to reels, jazz records and outboard synths.
Intruiging and quite off everything, listen en shudder….
