SATURN NEVER SLEEPS

Ever since a good friend of mine introduced me to the wonderful world of Sun Ra I'm blown away by his inspiring thoughts and sometimes sublime music. I say with some reservation sometimes because I still feel it difficult to find my way through his out put, both in writing and in music. His drive and creativity is so fascinating that he is for me in the same league as William Burroughs, Marcel Duchamp, Kurt Schwitters and Jack Smith. The Saturn Never Sleeps is a website which was originally created by music producer King Britt and interactive artist Rucyl for two performances specifically dedicated to the music and sound of Sun-Ra. On the twitter of Ras G was a link to this project. And the blog gives an reflection on Sun Ra in an inspiring way. Showing his art, some great spatial music by artists like Ras G, FlyLo and Matthewdavid just to name a few. The website gives an in depth view of a world with inspiring sounds, science project, art and most of the time a mix of these. We want more of these kinda sites and projects.
