CHARLES TREES The Dream EP

Ann-Arbor born Charles Trees signed with our friends of Musique Large. The EP is an intriguing mix of 80ies synth extravaganza, hip hop and electro funk like on the title song The Dream. The second track Mahjongg starts along the same path but with more electro kinda influences: dirty 8bit synths, claps. Funky like skweee growing epic in it's build up to the tracks climax and then when you expect it to go bang it fades... nice! Col Ak Ill is like a good Dam Funk track, funky from the start, pumping synth bass, stuttering beats and a beautiful percussion and organ end. Gratiot Gowanus with Shigeto from Ghostly International fame is a strange track that somehow lingers on and has a enormous push at the same time. Subtle also with the gritty sounds. The remix of the title track is done by the other new signees Baron Retif & Concepcion Perez. Charles Trees - The Dream EP snippet by Musique Large
