This got out last week but was wrestling with other stuff so forgot to write this. Blockhead's previous work on Ninja Tune and Mush had my full attention. His tracks have always been near genius and somehow I lost track of him over the last few years. I was amazed that he was still going strong...
The album, CD and download only which is as always a shame for vinyl junkies like myself, is diverse in flow, tempo and feel. He has grown in his style becoming more soulful, sensitive using noises, 'organic' sounds, beautiful drum patterns, strings, synths and guitars. It stays within the hip hop-ish feel but gets influenced with jazz and caribbean rhythms. Some of his tracks are great voiced. Its great couch, relax but foremost listening music as if you were listening to stories told by music not by words.....

The album is being released on cd and wax in early 2010. You should check out Bossasaurus if you dig this music, I’d say at this point they are a fair bit doper at instrumental hip-hop then Blockhead.
